Fedora MB – 2015 black tobiano mare by Franklyn Sugar – Volatis Delphi (Don Ricoss x Stanhopes Dueka)

Fedora was bred by our very good friend Kerry Jagger of Methley Bridge Stud and when the opportunity came up to purchase her, it was the opportunity to add our foundation bloodlines back into the Volatis broodmare herd. Fedora is known as Squiggle due to her facial markings and is a daughter of Volatis Delphi, making her a granddaughter of our foundation coloured mare Dee Dee G. A tall rangy mare with wonderful looseness and suspension, we are very excited about her future as both a broodmare and sport horse.

Squiggle was presented to the Futurity as a 3 year old with fabulous scores and comments from the veterinary assessment and also particularly high marks for her frame and  walk resulting in a Gold Premium.  She was also lightly shown in hand winning ………

Squiggle has now started her ridden career with talented young rider Emily Collings and the pair will progress in sport once Squiggle has had a foal, allowing her time to mature into her large frame.

Offspring:

Being covered in 2020 for a first foal.

Bloodlines:

Squiggle is a daughter of the small tour stallion Franklyn Sugar, now successfully competing in Holland.  His offspring are now doing well in both Burghley Young Event Horse classes and BD at Regional level and their correct conformation means they have also been successful in the show ring. He is a son of the famed sire Furst Heinrich who also sired leading stallions such as Furstenball, Furst Grandios and Furst Romancier among many others and of course famously sired double young horse world champion Woodlander Farouche.  Franklyn Sugar’s dam is by Accord II, a renown broodmare sire and also the sire of top show jumpers such as Acorado and Ars Vivendi.

Squiggle’s dam Volatis Delphi is a daughter of the Hanoverian stallion Don Ricoss, winner of his performance test, qualified for the Bundeschampionate for three successive years and was successful to M level.  His pedigree combines the bloodlines of two of the leading lights of Celle in Don Frederico and Weltmeyer.

Delphi is a half sister to two licensed stallions. Her dam Dee Dee G was champion of her grading and is a daughter of HOYS champion Stanhopes Dueka with a Thoroughbred motherline.
