Caprice is a fully graded Trakehner mare by the imported German stallion Achtermann, out of one of our other leased broodmares, Cover Girl. Caprice was graded as a 4yo and the judges commented that she had all good points, and was difficult to fault. She scored 7.5 for type and walk, and leg conformation, and 7s for all other areas, grading her into the main stud book. We are very excited about having such a typey young Trakehner mare in our program that hails from one of the most exciting female lines in the breed.

Through her dam Cover Girl, Caprice's female line is truely breathtaking. She is a direct descedant of the great mare Cornau. Cornau gained Elite status as the excellence of her progency became recognised. These include Corna, National Riding Champion, Grand Prix performer and dam of Checkpoint, and the Elite stallion Consul, a big influence in Hanover as well as on the Trakehner breed. Caprice's granddam Caro-Dame II is a daughter of Cornau and is herself the dam of one of the great young Trakehner stallions to be approved by the Hanoverian verband in recent years - Connery.
Her dam sire is the Champion of his grading Guter Stern, who sadly died after just 2 seasons at stud but produced many excellent daughters.
Caprice's sire is the imported stallion Fleetwater Achtermann. Achtermann was also graded with the SHB and BWBS and has produced a number of successful offspring in both dressage and eventing including the young graded Trakehner stallion Fleetwater Swift.

Caprice has bred two foals for Volatis Stud. In 2006 she produced a very smart bay and white filly by the KWPN stallion Ringo. That filly, Cleio, has been retained by the stud, and was Reserve Champion Part Bred Trakehner at the annual breed show in 2006, on her only outing of the year, and in 2007 went one better to be awarded the Part Bred Championship. Her 2005 filly Fleetwater Cascade is now owned by Rochand Sportpony Stud and was awarded a first premium at the 2006 BEF Futurity in the eventing section.
This year she has produced an outstanding pure bred filly by Bluewood Stud's Tycoon. This filly Casiphia, was the Top Dressage Foal at the West Midlands BEF Futurity. Tycoon comes from a very strong motherline that has produced both champion stallions and international showjumpers. Tycoon is proving to be a particularly good sire of fillies. He can count many premium mares, the 2000 overall Champion Trakehner mare and Bundeschampion qualifiers among his descendants. He is also the broodmare sire of the Champion and Reserve Trakehner stallions at Neumuenster in 2004.

Caprice's pedigree
