2008 Bay Tobiano Westfalen x SHB colt by Showmaker x Dee Dee G to mature approximately 16.2hh+
Volatis Defiant was born shortly after midnight on 11th June and it was apparent immediatly that this was an extremely impressive colt. He seems to have inherited his sire's wonderful uphill frame and long legs and luckily his dam's beautiful head and colour. He already shows wonderful balance in his canter and is light on his feet with effortless scope. It is hoped he will be sold as a stallion prospect as his quality is fantastic.

Defiant, stable name Jack, is by the Westfalen graded stallion Showmaker. Showmaker was Champion of his 30 day test in Germany and 3rd at the Bundeschampionate that year. Only a 6 year old he has had amazing success in Youn Horse Classes including taking the International and National 5yo titles at Hickstead, winning the Supreme Championship in the Pavo Potiential International Horse class at the 2006 Nationals. He has been selected for the World Class Dressage Equine Pathway Scheme and in 2008 is again qualfiying for all the young horse finals with fantastic scores. His first Elementary test in March saw him win with an amazing 78.28% and he completed the second half of his Summer Regional qualifcation on his next outing. He has also won his first medium class again with a superb score.
Showmaker was choosen not only as Sacha felt he truely is one of the most exciting International prospects in the UK, but also as he has a very interesting mixture of bloodlines. His sire Showstar is a son of the Oldenburg star Sandro Hit and was the 2001 Bundeschampion and has now started at Grand Prix. Showmaker's dam sire is the Grand Prix stallion Fidermark who aldso won the Bundeschampionate in 1996. Fidermark was one of the best sons of the Westfalen legend Florestan and his legacy is continued with the likes of Champion stallion Fidertanz and the Warendorf based Furst Piccolo.
Jack's dam Dee Dee G has proved to be a superb broodmare for Volatis. Her foals have all inherited her outstanding temperament and type. Dee was Champion of her grading in February 2008 with the BSPA and will be presented for SHB grading this autumn. Her sire Stanhops Dueka reached the pinnacle of the showing world with victory at HOYS as well as coming 2nd and 3rd ther eis subsequent years. His sire Stanhopes Diddicoy is well known as a sire of eventers and show jumpers and Dueka's full brother is an advanced eventer in Italy. Dee's dam line contains many Thoroughbred names well known in sporthorse breeding.
