Volatis Delta
|
2009 Bay Tobiano Hanoverian x SHB filly by Damsey x Dee Dee G to mature approximately 16.2hh
Volatis Delta was born in the early morning of 28th May and we were thrilled to discover that Dee Dee had presented us with another outstanding foal and a filly too. Her sire Damsey is a young German based stallion we have admired since first seeing video footage of him as a 4 year old, and so far Delta has exceeded expectations. Her walk is particualry excellent, just like her sire, and she has inherited her dam's great attitude to life. Delta combines not only valuable bloodlines for breeding, but her exceptional athleticism means her career in the dressage arena should be fabulous too.
Very sadly Delta will be offered for sale. Please contact Sacha on 01476 550356 or email us at volatisstud@yahoo.co.uk for more information.

Delta's sire, Damsey, stands in North Germany at Jens Meyers stud farm, and is owned by leading American breeders, Leatherdale Farms. Prized for his ridability and an especially outstanding walk, Damsey has qualified for the Bundeschampionat and the World Championships for young dressage horses at Verden. As well as being graded into the Hanoverian studbook, he was also Champion of the Danish stallion licensing in 2005. Damsey is currently competing at PSG level and has covered some of the most successful Olympic dressage mares, a testament to his ability as both a dressage horse and a sir.
Combining the great Donnerhall and Rubinstein lines, Damsey's sire is Dressage Royal. Trained to Grand Prix level, this stallion is also noted for his high trainability. Dressage Royal is ranked 15th among all dressage breeding sires in Germany. On Damsey's dam side there is an excellent input of jumping blood through Ritual and Grande. Damsey's dam has also produced the small tour mare Daianira vd Helle.
Delta's dam Dee Dee G has proved to be a superb broodmare for Volatis. Her foals have all inherited her outstanding temperament and type. Dee was Champion of her grading in February 2008 with the BSPA and has since been graded into the ZfDP studbook. Her sire Stanhops Dueka reached the pinnacle of the showing world with victory at HOYS as well as coming 2nd and 3rd there in subsequent years. His sire Stanhopes Diddicoy is well known as a sire of eventers and show jumpers and Dueka's full brother is an advanced eventer in Italy. Dee's dam line contains many Thoroughbred names well known in sporthorse breeding.
As a broodmare Dee has produced some exceptional foals. Her eldest son, Bam Bam G, is a graded BSPA stallion. Her second foal Volatis Devlin was a multiple First Premium winner at the BEF Futurity in both dressage and show jumping, and is now starting his under saddle competition career. Her 2008 colt Defiant was also a First Premium winner at the BEF Futurity. Her only other filly to date Delphi, by Don Ricoss, was sold to the Decour Stud, as a future broodmare prospect.
