2005 Brown Tobiano colt by Goshka Ringo x Dee Dee G to mature 16.2hh+

Devlin was born on St Patrick's Day, and although there is no Irish blood in his pedigree, we had to give him an Irish name. Devlin means brave and we hope that this little guy will prove to be just that.

He was a very strong correct foal, standing 43 inches at birth, and we couldn't have achieved such eye catching markings if we had painted them on ourselves. He has fabulous uphill paces with real suspension, combined with extremely correct conformation and real presence.

His temperament is second to none, tribute to both his genetics and his correct handling from birth. On his 2006 showing debut he was 3rd in the Open CHAPS In Hand Qualifier at Grafton Park Show, and the highest placed youngstock. Not only did he behave immecably throughout but drew many admiring comments from spectators. At his second show he was best yearling in both open sporthorse and BSPA youngstock classes. He ended 2006 on a high note when being awarded a First Premium at the BEF Futurity, especially impressing the judges with his powerful movement. In 2008 he was awarded another First Premium by the BEF, this time in the Show Jumping section, with the judges being very impressed by his loose jumping technique and round athletic canter.

Devlin is working really well under saddle, and has been a real gentleman to back for his new owner Holly. He moves with incredible power and athleticism under saddle and will make his competition debut in 2009.

 

Devlin is bred to be a sporthorse, his young sire, Ringo, is currently competing at medium dressage and has a very promising career ahead of him. He carries the bloodlines of Samber, Ferro and Furioso to name a few. Ringo's offspring are already winning at county level in both coloured and open sporthorse classes. His dam, Dee Dee, has unfortunatly been injured and so has returned to broodmare duties. She is a high quality mare combining size, substance and yet with thoroughbred refinement. Her sire Stanhopes Dueka is a HOYS Champion and her grandsire Diddicoy is a renowned sire of eventers and an FEI dressage horse himself. Dee has been graded with both the BSPA and ZfDP and her 2008 colt foal Volatis Defiant, was also awarded a First Premium at the BEF Futurity.
