Volatis Dreamcatcher – 2018 bay filly by Volatis DefiantTrenda (Mondriaan x Ulft x Farn)

Dreamcatcher is known as ‘Maggie May’ at home. Born 10th May, she is a half sister to the Elite Auction foal Volatis Ferriamo, from the direct motherline of the great sire FERRO.

Maggie May is a very correct and strong filly. Her sire Volatis Defiant is successfuly competing at Advanced Medium and passes on size, power and superb temperaments to his offspring. Her dam Trenda hails from the direct motherline of one of the most important stallions in modern dressage breeding – Ferro.

Maggie May has been sold to Rachel ready to start her sport career in a few years time. As a yearling we showed Maggie May from home on two occasions, winning both times including a very strong yearling sport horse class at Royal Three Counties.

Maggie May’s sire is the licensed British Warmblood stallion Volatis Defiant. Defiant is a son of the National young horse champion Showmaker, who himself combines the bloodlines of the Grand Prix stallion and hugely influential sire Fidermark and the World Number 2 dressage sire Sandro Hit. Defiant’s dam is the BSPA Grading Champion Dee Dee G who is the dam of another licensed stallion son. Dee Dee was a daughter of HOYS Champion Stanhopes Dueka who was by Stanhopes Diddicoy – successful at Inter 1 dressage, and also evented, show jumped and competing in the showing ring with equal success. Defiant was Scottish Prelim and Novice Champion and is now competing successfully at Advanced Medium.

What makes this filly exceptional is the quality of her motherline. Trenda’s sire Mondriaan is a sire of Grand Prix horses, and descends from the sire line of Habicht, the international eventer and foundation sire.

Trenda’s dam is the Keur mare Glenda, a daughter of Ulft. Ulft was a successful competition horse, and besides the great Ferro, was also the sire of several other international dressage horses. Glenda is the only full sister of the legendary KWPN stallion Ferro.
