2. June has been a very busy and rather up and down month for us. Elf's filly foal Tia has been in Rossdale's with an infection but to brighten things up, on the same night Dee Dee G presented us with an outstanding colt by the dressage star Showmaker named Volatis Defiant, who looks every inch the superstar.

1. In the show ring the Daldorn Stud horses have been doing well. The Riding Pony 2yo filly Daldorn Spring Thyme was Reserve Champion in her section at Suffolk County and Champion at East of England. The Trakehner filly Portia was Champion Hack Breeding at East of England and at Suffolk and was 2nd in a very strong sporthorse class at Lincoln County. Daldron Legacy qualified for RIHS at his second ever outing in the Intermediate class, and Daldron Java Star was Champion Riding Horse at Market Deeping. Lady Benton Jones has also bred two very smart foals, a filly by Latimer out of the Hack Champion Daldorn State Melody and a colt by the sport pony stallion Bernwode Brokat out of Daldron Scarlet Ribbon.

May 2008

1. It has been a busy few weeks here with foals arriving and mares being covered, but we are pleaed to introduce three stunning foals. First to arrive was Volatis Vivaldi on 12th May, a really impressive and strong tobiano colt by Goshka Ringo x Holme Park Venezia. Then on 16th May, maiden Trakehner mare Elf, produced an exquisite bay filly by the German stallion Latimer. And finally this morning 23rd May, Orange, our black Catherston bred mare, produced a very tall and correct tobiano filly by the young Oldenburg stallion Samaii, his first foal in the UK and first filly. Please visit the foal's own pages for photographs and more information.

April 2008

4. We recent received this photograph of one of our first homebreds, Kifarasi Mkushi, now rising 7! This fabulous little Welsh D x Thoroughbred is now owned by Sally who totally adores him, as does everyone who meets him. Here he is being ridden by Sophie Stent, who is bringing him back into work after time off through injury.

3. Dell's 2007 filly Volatis Diva, has started her showing career in her new home really well. At under 10 months of age, she took 4th place out of 22 entrants at the CHAPS North East Spring Show in the youngstock class, and was highest placing yearling, qualifying her for the CHAPS Summer Championships. Kimberley kindly sent us this photograph and is thrilled to report that Diva behaved like an old pro!

2. Dee Dee G attended the BSPA Northern Spring Grading in Yorkshire and graded with the excellent score of 80%. We have since had conformation that she was infact the Champion Broodmare across the whole of the BSPA Spring Gradings. As this was her first ever outing we were delighted with her excellent manners and calm demenour and the judges obviously agreed.

1. Trudi very kindly sent me this photograph of Dell's oldest foal Prada (Decadence D) who now 4 years old has started her British Dressage career with great success and is impressing everyone with her easy nature and excellent paces.

February 2008

1. 2008 has not started so well for the stud. Sacha had a serious accident in January, resulting in surgery and time in hospital. Unfortunatly I will be out of the saddle for some time as more surgery is on the horizon. As a result we are offering the ridden horses for sale at very resonable prices. Please visit the sales page for information.

2007

3. Sacha and Andy wish all their friends and customers a very Happy Christmas and look forward to seeing you all in 2008.

2. Two new young horses have arrived to be produced, Persia and Milo will both be in training over the winter and offeed for sale in the Spring so keep an eye out for updates on their progress.

1. Caprice has received another award from the BEF. As a result of the success of her progeny at this year's BEF Futurity, she is the 9th highest scoring broodmare across the scheme.

October 2007

6. We are now taking in young horses for schooling or backing. There are limited places available as all the ridden work is done by Sacha. With excellent facilities, resonable rates and first class care, please contact Sacha on 01476 550356 for more information.

5. Two new pages have been added to the website - the broodmare Catherston Orange Grove and a yearling filly Ramona.

4. Sacha attended the Trakehner Stallion Licensing and Elite Auction in Neumunster. It was good to see bloodlines we use in our own breeding program strongly represented. A full brother to Connery (and therefore half brother to Christie) was presented and sold to Britain as a dressage mount. Connery himself was the sire of the Reserve Champion Ettinger. The Elite stallion Consul appeared in the pedigrees of 7 graded stallions, including the Champion Grand Passion, and he was the dam sire of the highest priced riding horse Sir Arthur. Casiphia and Elf's sire Tycoon again showed his importance as a broodmare sire when his grandson Le Bai was graded.

3. Volatis Diva has been sold to a showing home in the North of England. Best of luck to Kimberley and family and we can't wait to see her out and about next season.

2. The final results for the BEF Futurity have been posted on the BEF website www.bef.co.uk/British_Breeding. Volatis Casiphia was the Overall Champion Junior Dressage Foal, and, based on the success of her offspring, Fleetwater Caprice was awarded a Broodmare Premium.

1. The SHB mare gradings have been completed around the country and we were thrilled to receive confirmation that Gerty had graded as one of the Top Ten mares in the country with an overall score of 9.07. Look out for an article on the Top Ten mares in the next SHB newsletter. This now means that we are hunting in earnest for an SHB approved stallion for Gerty for 2008.

September 2007(top)

2. The 2007 Trakehners UK Annual Show saw some fabulous results for the Volatis team. Volatis Cleio went one better than last year to now only win her Part Bred Trakehner Yearling class but also take the Part Bred Championship. Judge Celia Clarke praised her excellent movement and condition. Sacha then presented Portia for the Free Jumping Championship. Although she was the only 2yo forward, Portia jumped in superb form over some rather impressive heights and was duly awarded the Ingrid Christodoulou Memorial Trophy.

1. Desert Storm III (Gerty) was presented for grading with the SHB at the National Hunter Show on 4th September. She was awarded Head Stud Book Status and the judges were very complimentary regarding her conformation and attitude and how clean limbed she was after a successful competition career.

August 2007(top)

6. Volatis Cleio takes 3rd place in the yearling sporthorse class at Bucks County show. Judge Mrs Sims highly praised her superb movement and felt that with maturity she will be very impressive which was a superb result as the only coloured in the class.

5. Our second BEF Futurity outing of the season saw a drive over to the West Midlands and the Heart of England showground. Volatis Hurakan displayed his fabulous attitude with a calm and relaxed outing to gain a Second Premium. Volatis Casiphia excited both us and the judges with her wonderful movement and attitude to not only take a First Premium but also the Top Dressage Foal award. To have achieved this with two different foals at two of the six regional venues is some achievement for such a small and relatively new stud and one of which we are justifiably proud.

4. Volatis Delphi has been sold. Congratulations to Shane.

3. The Ponies UK Summer Championship is another successful outing with Portia flying the flag for Trakehner breeding by not only winning the Hack Breeding Championship but also winning the JD Memorial Youngstock Championship. Other victories in a very busy week include Daldorn Skye Dancer winning the 12.2hh riding pony broodmare class and her half brother Daldorn Whistle Blower winning his youngstock class.

2. 5 mares have now scanned in foal for 2008, so fingers crossed we will have foals due by Latimer, Samaii, Goshka Ringo, Showmaker and Axis.

1. The Daldorn show string has a successful outing at the NPS Championship show at Malvern, including taking the Hack Breeding Championship with Daldorn State Melody, and the 12.2hh Riding Pony Breeding Championship with Daldorn Whistle Blower.

July 2007 (top)

4. We hear from new owner Hillary that Dilemma (2006 by Ringo x Dell) had a very successful first outing into the show ring, coming second in a competitive youngstock class and behaving impeccably.

3. The first round of the 2007 BEF Futurity was an extremely successful one for Volatis bred stock. Both Cosmopolitan and Devlin narrowly missed out on First Premiums, and won many new admirers due to both their outstanding temperaments and movement. Diva however takes the accolades, winning not only a coveted First Premium, but also taking the Dressage Foal Championship - a fabulous achievement as she was the youngest foal there.

2. Sacha showed Portia at the BD Breeding Championships, and took 4th place in an 18 strong field of 2 year old fillies.

1. The July showing campaign kicked off in fine style with Portia taking the Hack & Riding Horse Breeding Championship at the Royal Show, and all 5 other horses representing the Daldorn Stud, also placing.

June 2007 (top)

6. Our final foal of 2007 arrived safely on 21st June, a stunning and extremely typey chestnut Trakehner filly by Tyccon out of Caprice, named Casiphia.

5. At 10am this morning (Sunday 17th June), Broadstone Dingle Dell foaled a very attractive bay and white filly by the young KWPN sire Vincent II. Named Volatis Diva, both mother and daughter are doing well.

4. Shortly after Delphi's arrival, Sacha headed to East of England show where she won the Two Year Old Loose Jumping class with Lady Benton-Jones' Portia, with the highest marks of the day. Portia was also 3rd in the Riding Horse 2/3yo class, with Daldorn Racing Bow placed 5th.

3. After a very sad start to the week, Dee Dee G softened the blow by delivering an outstanding coloured filly by the Hanoverian stallion Don Ricoss on Friday 15th June. Named Volatis Delphi, she is the first coloured foal by Don Ricoss. Please visit her webpage for photographs.

2. Some very sad news to announce. Volatis Mekkhala (Meka) sadly had to be put to sleep on the 12th June after suffering a trauma to her fetlock that was unoperable. She was a truely stunning filly and will be sorely missed.

1. Our third foal of 2007 is born in the early hours of the 5th June. Cover Girl produces a healthy and elegant bay filly, shown her on her first day out. A full sister to Callista she has been named Volatis Cosmopolitan.

May 2007 (top)

8. Desert Storm (Gerty) waited for Sacha's return from Suffolk Show before giving birth to a huge chestnut filly on the evening of Thursday 31st May. Named Volatis Mekkhala, the filly is a full sister to Hurakhan.

7. The Daldorn Stud horses had an excellent week at Suffolk Show. Sacha showed Daldorn Whistle Blower to take 2nd place in the Riding Pony 3yo class and the Trakehner filly Portia to 2nd place in the 2yo Sporthorse class. Portia was also 3rd in the Riding Horse & Hack Younstock, beaten by her stable companion Daldorn Racing Bow. Our next outing is the East of England show at Peterborough in June.

6. In the early hours of May 26th, Venezia foaled a bay colt by the Trakehner stallion Ivernel. Named Volatis Valiant he is a tall, athletic, typey colt and has exceeded all expectations.

5.The first three mares due (Venezia, Christie and Gerty) have been brought up to the foaling boxes and all three look in fabulous health and all well bagged up. Keep watching this space for the first foal reports of 2007.

4. Reports from owners of previous year's Volatis foals have been very encouraging. Azeri (2005) is now 16.2hh!! and turning into a stunning young man.
Callista (2006) is also maturing into quite a size, now 15hh at under a year old, with reportedly fabulous movement and temperament. Hurakan (2006) is developing into a magnificent animal and will be out showing later in the season, at the BD Breeding Championships and BEF Futurity.

3. Elfinesque has been inseminated by the German based Trakehner stallion Latimer, so fingers crossed for a successful pregnancy scan.

2. A successful start to the showing season for Sacha's employer Daldorn Stud, resulted in Daldorn Spring Thyme taking the Riding Pony Breeding Championship at Leciester County Show, and her half brother Daldorn Whistle Blower also winning both his classes. The next outing for us, will be Suffolk County, where the highly regarded pure bred Trakehner filly Portia (Axis x Abdullah) will make her showring debut.

1. Fleetwater Caprice is offered for sale on behalf of her owner, Fleetwater Stud. She has been a very valuable broodmare during her time at Volatis, including breeding last year's Part Bred Trakehner Reserve Champion Volatis Cleio and the BEF Futurity First Premium winner Fleetwater Cascade. Please contact us for more details.

January 2007 (top)

3. We are pleased to announce the arrival of two new Trakehner broodmares. Holme Park Venezia and Harmsworth Elfinesque are two extremely well bred, correct and exciting mares. Venezia is in foal to the Trakehner stallion Ivernel, which makes six foals now due this year at Volatis. Be sure to read their webpages so find out the details of these latest additions.

2. From the 2006 foal crop, both Dilemma and Callista have settled into their new homes, and although sad to see them go, it is rewarding to hear how well they are handling the latest events in their lives. Hurakan, although sold, is remaining at Volatis on livery. Cleio has been retained by the stud as a future broodmare prospect.

1. We would like to wish all friends and supporters of Volatis Stud a very Happy New Year and hope 2007 is a successful and rewarding year for you all.

September 2006 (top)

1. Volatis Cleio is awarded the Reserve Champion Part Bred Trakehner title at the Trakehner Breeders Federation Annual Breed Show and Grading. On her first outing, Cleio showed herself off beautifully, gaining main compliments from spectators. The judge commented on her excellent hind leg and modern type. Cleio was the only coloured horse forward and in addition to her exceptional paces, her outstanding temperament was evident throughout the day.

August 2006 (top)

6. The end of August saw a move for Volatis Stud and its residents - to Lincolnshire and the small village of Irnham. The move went smoothly and all the horses travelled well. The move allows the stud to continue to expand and focus on the vision of breeding top class coloured performance horses. Sacha has taken a position producing county standard show horses for a private breeder, an exceptional opportunity.
5. Volatis Callista and Voaltis Devlin attended another round of the BEF Futurity at Arena UK. Both were awarded first premiums in their sections, a fantastic reflection on the stud's breeding policy. Once again both youngsters behaved exceptionally well, a compliment to their temperaments.
4. Volatis Hurakhan was the first 2006 foal to be shown, at the British Equestrian Federation (BEF) Youngstock Futurity held at Catherston Stud. He behaved impeccably on his debut outing and we are thrilled that he was awarded a premium by the judges who complimented him on his athleticism and presence.
3. Volatis Dilemma has been sold, congratulations to Hilary.
2. Caprillo has been sold and we wish his new owners every success with him.
1. Hymn of Victory (pictures below) signed off with a wonderful day at Cranleigh Agricultural Show. He won the small competition horse class, was Reserve Champion and was 4th in the Retrained Racehorse class. He behaved as impeccably as ever throughout the day. Victor has since been sold to Sue in Gloucestershire.

5. Volatis Callista has been sold, congratulations to Liz.
4.Hymn of Victory attend his first show. His outstanding temperament came into good stead when he was placed 2nd and 3rd in his first dressage competition and 6th in the Balanced Horse Feeds Small Riding Horse class, giving judge Donald Kear 'the best ride of the class'. Volatis Devlin took best Yearling in both BSOA youngstock and Open Youngstock at the same show, particuarly impressing judge John Maynard with his movement.
3. Volatis Hurakan (Khan) has been sold. Congratulations to Steph. Khan will remain at Volatis on youngstock livery post weaning before he joins his new owner as a future dressage star.
2. Breeding plans for the mares have been amended in view of the outstanding foal crop we have had this year. Both Cover Girl and Desert Storm have been bred back to Festivo, Dingle Dell has been booked to the young KWPN stallion Vincent II and Dee Dee G returns to the broodmare herd and is to be covered by the young Hanoverian star Don Ricoss. In an attempt to breed a pure bred Trakehner filly to retain, Caprice has been bred to the influential sire Tycoon. Links to all the 2006 sires can be found on our links page.
1. All the foals continue to thrive and grow, and have been winning many admirers and interest in purchasing them from all over the country.

June 2006 (top)

5. Before we had chance to catch our breath Fleetwater Caprice foaled early, on the morning of June 8th, a third coloured filly, also by Ringo, Volatis Cleio. That is three fillies in 36 hours, what a wonderful start to the month!

4. Broadtone Dingle Dell takes everyone by surprise by foaling in the early evening hours on the 7th June. She has produced a beautiful healthy filly by Ringo, Volatis Dilemma.

3. The Trakehner mare Cover Girl foaled in the early hours of Wednesday morning, 7th June, a beautifully marked and elegant filly by Festivo - Volatis Callista - a long awaited filly. (See picture left)

2. The first foal of 2006 has been born (see picture below), on 2nd June, just 3 days overdue. A very strong and atheltic colt by Festivo x Desert Storm III. Named Volatis Hurakan, more pictures and information can be seen on his page.

1. A lot to catch up on. Mkushi, Winni and Charlie have been sold to fantastic new homes, and Victor has joined the Volatis stud ranks. The broodmares all look fit and healthy and we eagerly await the arrival of this year's foal crop.

October 2005(top)

1. Caprillo has been fully affiliated with British Dressage and attended 3 competitons recently. He has been extremely consistent scoring 2 points on each outing, and being placed each time. His recent trip to Oldencraig saw him placed 2nd in the restricted Novice against some very high quality opposition.

2. Volatis Stud is moving! We have a new base just 10 miles from Guildford with excellent facilities. All the horses will move on the weekend of the 15th of October so prepartions are underway. We will be accepting livery clients straight away so please have a look at our Livery page for information on all the services and facilities we have to offer.

September 2005(top)

1. Congratulations to Christine on her purchase of Wendel VS. We wish them both a very happy future together.

2. Caprillo makes his affiliated debut at Golden Cross scoring a very respectable 65.6% in the Novice 32 which would have earned him 3 BD points had be not been competing on a day ticket.

3.Wendel continued his winning streak with a victory in preliminary 4 and a second in preliminary 10 at the recent horley dressage event. It was the first time he had competed on grass and would have had a clean sweep, had sacha not made an error of course in the second test.

August 2005(top)

1. On sunday 7th wendal attended his first in hand showing classes at Cranleigh agricutural show. His first class potential competition horse went very well being originaly called up second, Then after closer inspection by the judge moved to first collecting a red rossette and best local. The judge commented on his impecable manners for his age at his first show. Wendal's second class, best foriegn breed, proved to be a strange class. The organisers had failed to stipulate on the class being in hand or ridden. Wendal was the only competitor in hand and behaved impecably as the other competitors rode around him. The judge had said she found it a difficult class to judge as there was quite a mixture of breeds and placed wendal third.

2. Caprillo's latest dressage outing results in a 5th place in the Novice 32 class, and once again he behaved beautifully at a new venue.

3. All four broodmares have been scanned in foal for 2006. Two mares, the beautifully bred graded Trakehner mare Cover Girl, and the advanced eventer Desert Storm are both in foal to the Westphalen stallion Festivo. Cover Girl's daughter Fleetwater Caprice and the Demonstrator mare Broadstone Dingle Dell have both been scanned in foal to the KWPN stallion Goshka Ringo. We have very high hopes for our 2006 foal crop.
