2006 Cremello Hungarian WB Filly tm 16.0hh by Nonius XXXII out of Nori
Ramona is known as Marci at home, and is jointly owned by Volatis Stud and Mrs Jan Greenlees. Purchased directly from her breeder in Hungary she is an interesting addition to our breeding program. Her cremello colouring means that she will always produce dilute foals, either palomino or buckskin depending on the stallion. Marci obviously has plenty of growing and maturing to do but already her super limbs and bone and excellent temperament make her a wonderful addition to the stud. Marci will be covered in 2010.

Marci's pedigree is very unusual one to a British eye, being based on two traditional Hungarian riding horse breeds, the Nonius and the Furioso-Northstar which have been combined in the Hungarian Warmblood studbooks. The Furioso-Northstar breed come through Marci's dam Nuri. These horses are known for their good bone and toughness and are most successful in show jumping and carriage driving. The Nonius breed descended from a stallion of that name and was influenced by Thoroughbred blood. Again this is a breed known for it's soundness and amenable temperament. The addition of warmblood and arabian blood into the Hungarian warmblood studbook can be seen in Marci's pedigree with both a Hanoverian and Arabian great grandsire.
