Venezia's dam is the Elite mare Vabanque, who was Supreme Champion at the Breed Show in both 1988 and in 1997. She has been one of the most importnat foundation broodmares at the famous Holme Grove Stud. She was awarded Premium Status at her grading, and on the basis of her offspring's success, was awarded Elite Status. She has produced a number of Premium daughters, a graded stallion son, and advanced dressage competitors. She has produced 15 foals to date and is still going strong at the age of 22. In 2007 this remarkable mare was the dam of the Overall Show supreme at the TBF breed show. Another daughter was awarded premium status and a third was the pure bred youngstock champion. All three of these mares were 3/4 sisters to Venezia.
Vabanque's sire is the Elite stallion Consul, a hugely important influence in both the Trakehner and Hanoverian breeds and a family that appears prominently in the Volatis breeding program. In addition her dam and granddam were also premium mares.
Venezia's sire is the TBF, SHB and BWBS approved stallion Holme Grove Solomon. Solomon has been a leading sire of dressage horses in Great Britain including leading the BHD rankings in 2000. This makes Venezia a full sister to the Grading Champion Velvet, the Graded Stallion Vincent, and the Premium Graded mares Vanity and Vincenca.
Venezia has produced a number of correct, trainable foals, all with real off the floor paces. Her eldest daughter Holme Park Verena was graded by the TBF in 2004 and successfully passed her Mare Performance Test. Holme Park Verona has BD points and has shown successfully under saddle, including at the Breed Show. Her oldest son, Bluewood Vesuvius, was 2nd in foal class at the breed show.
In 2007 Venezia produced her first foal for Volatis Stud, a bay colt by the magnificent Trakehner stallion Ivernel. Ivernel was Champion of the Danish Appovals in 1998, and has sired a number of highly graded sons such as Pret A Porter and Kasimir. His offspring are known for their elegance and high ridability. He himself competed at Intermediare level and is an incredibly uphill, elegant horse. We had very high expectations for this cross and have not been disappointed. Volatis Valiant was born in the early hours of May 26th and is a stunnigly typey bay colt. In 2008 Venezia had produced an even better foal in the shape of the impressive tobiano colt Vivaldi, by the Dutch bred stallion Goshka Ringo. Vivaldi is extremely striking, with his super markings, uphill build and powerful movement.
